What you need to know before your first session:

Our number one goal is to exceed your expectations and to make sure that you are treated safely and comfortably.  We strive to not only reduce your pain and tension but also to make sure you leave us with a smile on your face!  We believe in complete transparency and open communication, as we feel this factor is necessary to experience a fantastic therapy session in which you deserve.  Please read the following "FAQ'S" and if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to us! We're here to help!

What is your cancellation policy?

We have reserved your appointment time JUST for you.

We require at least 24 hours notice for any cancellation/rescheduling. Call/text us at 815-751-6581 anytime and leave a message. Or email dekalbprenatalmassage@gmail.com.

If a true emergency presents itself that conflicts with your appointment, we ask that you notify us immediately through any medium necessary. You can email us at any time of day or night, or make a phone call and leave a voice message any time during normal waking hours, but it is your responsibility to ensure you have received a reply from us to confirm cancellation BEFORE your missed appointment time.

  • Cancel/change your appointment with at least 24 hours notice: no problem, no charge.

  • Cancel/change within 24 hours of your appointment for any reason: $40 cancellation fee, or 50% of the full session rate (whichever is greater.) You can avoid this by sending someone in your place! If we are able to fill the appointment: no charge.

  • Cancel/change your appointment within 2 hours: Full charge, unless we can rebook that slot.

  • No show, no notice: if you simply do not show up for any reason, with no notice, we will charge your card on file for the full session rate.

  • IF YOU ARE IN LABOR: minimum of 4 hours notice required to cancel your appointment.

  • IF YOU ARE IN LABOR and don't notify us and don't show up, we will charge the card on file the full rate for the session.

  • IF YOU ARE IN LABOR and give less than 4 hours notice, we will charge the card on file the cancellation fee (50% of your full session rate) - unless we can fill your vacancy.

If you have circumstances that you feel deserve special consideration, please let us know as soon as possible so that we can decide whether or not to make an exception to this policy.

What happens if I show up late?

Everyone that schedules an appointment, will receive our welcome email as well as a confirmation message and intake form.  There is a link to complete your electronic intake form prior to your session, which is separate from the Welcome Email. Your intake form must be completed 48 hours prior to your appointment, as well as the submission of credit card info to secure your appointment. Also, directions on how to find us are also included as well as other helpful information. In the welcome email, it states that you should arrive a few minutes early.  If you are late, if you have not completed your intake form fully or any other circumstance that causes us to start your session behind schedule... you will receive whatever time is left on the original appointment.  If you will be more than 15 minutes late, you may be asked to reschedule, however you will still be responsible for the full session rate.  This is only to ensure that our schedule runs smoothly and that clients after you are not left waiting.  Our goal is that you are completely present for your session so that you may get the full outcome of your therapy.  If you can not make your appointment, or you will be late, please let us know right away!

How soon can I get a prenatal massage/ I just gave birth/ or I have a high risk pregnancy?

Prenatal massage is SAFE during ANY trimester as long as you are experiencing a healthy pregnancy.  You are more than welcome in our office from the moment you find out you are expecting (or even before!), up to the day you deliver.  If you have recently delivered, you can come in for a massage right away, barring any complications, and you may bring baby with you as well as your significant other if you need a driver or assistance getting to and from your appointment.  We will do our very best to make sure everyone is as comfortable as possible, no matter the circumstance.  If you recently had a c-section, or have experienced ANY complications during delivery or throughout your pregnancy, please call us to discuss so that we may work with you.  There are a few high-risk conditions or complications that contraindicate massage or may force us to use modifications, use caution or delay therapy for you and your baby's safety. We must know this information up front.  All high-risk pregnancies or any pregnancies experiencing complications, no matter the reason, need to be cleared by your OB/GYN with a written consent to treat, including any pertinent information we may need to know, as well as the permission to directly contact your treating physician if needed.  Although massage therapy during any stage of pregnancy is ultimately safe, we must make sure that we have all of the information necessary to be able to treat you in the best and safest way possible as certain contraindications exist that could be very serious and/or dangerous.  Because we are a specialty treatment provider, we are able to work with more high-risk conditions or complications than your average massage therapy provider, but we do need to have as much information as possible before your session and communication with your OB if you are experiencing any kind of complication. As always, if you have questions, please contact us. We are here to help your pregnancy be a lot easier!  We strongly believe in open communication and transparency when it comes to your goals.

Is there any reason I should contact you and reschedule my appointment?

Where are you located?

We are located at 1210 East State Street, Suite 6 in Sycamore.  Enter the main entrance and follow the hallway around to the bathrooms.  You will find us just before the bathrooms on your righthand side. The main entrance is located directly under the address of the building, and between the large windows in the front of the building, just beside the handicap parking space. If you follow the hall around, you will locate the bathrooms towards the back of the building.  If you arrive more than 10-15 minutes early for your appointment and see a sign on the door that we are currently in session, or the door is locked, please have a seat on the bench located in the hall, or outside (weather/comfort permitting). If you get lost, please call the office so we can help you.

I received the "Welcome Email" but, do I really need to place a credit card on file?

Yes!  Regardless of your method of payment for your appointment, we require every single client who schedules a session with us to place a credit card number on file to be able to secure your appointment time and date. It is very common that we are scheduled out well in advance, by at least 3-4 weeks.  So that everyone has a chance to receive therapy, we ask that if you are unable to make your appointment, that you give us at least 24 hours advanced notice for changes.  We do not charge "pre-paid" sessions nor charge gift cards/apply coupons or vouchers for late cancels or no-shows.  It is imperative that we have all of the necessary information on file for you in advance, including a fully completed intake form, 24 hours after scheduling and no less than 48 hours before your scheduled appointment time.  We do our very best we can to follow up with clients who have not provided the necessary information on time, however, if we do not have all of the completed information we need from you to hold your appointment, we have no choice but to cancel your appointment 24 hours after scheduling and no LESS than 48 hours before your scheduled time, to allow another client to take your place as we are in such high demand. This policy keeps it fair for all other clients and allows us to plan accordingly.

What if I need an appointment RIGHT now or I need an urgent session scheduled?  Is your online schedule up-to-date?

The online schedule is up-to-date and accurate.  However, if you are an existing client or a member, and you have an urgent matter, please call or text Amy at 815-751-6581.  Sometimes we are able to squeeze in urgent appointments around what is already booked, however, the online scheduler is accurate and shows what is currently available.  We will sometimes open up extra time slots or extra days for members who have the priority booking advantages as well as access to "Member Only Days".  Please text if you need an urgent appointment.  *Emergency or urgent appointments carry an additional fee*
